Nandha and Poorna pair in Vellore Mavattam

It looks like Tamil film directors are running out of titles as they"ve been constantly utilizing either the titles of yesteryear films or names of the cities. In the recent time, it has been illustrious with film titles– Madurai-to-Theni: Vazhi Aandipatti, Renigunta and now Vellore Mavattam.

As the title suggests, the entire film is set in backdrops of Vellore district with Nandha performing a cop"s role. The actor won laurels for his extraordinary performance as an antagonist in supernatural thriller Eeram. He has almost completed shooting for yet another film of that same genre titled Anantha Purathu Veedu.

Actress Poorna stars opposite Nandha in female lead role. The film is directed by Manohar of Maasilamani fame and is produced by Kalapathy Agoram of AGS Entertainment. Sundar C Babu scores music while Vetri cranks the camera.
