Aaravadhu Vanam and an 'unimaginable story'!

By By: Settu Shankar

Have you ever imagined about requesting the villagers to vacate their village for 5 days to shoot a film? Naturally, it"s something more of an unimaginable question. Maybe, there are chances of getting scourged for putting forth a hard request. But it was happened in reality as the entire people vacated their village for the sake of filming. It happened in a village Singaram Paalayam located near Coimbatore district (20Kms from Pollachi).

Director Bhuvanesh, who was experienced with such unexpected gestures of villagers, says, “The Pandavas got through intolerable vain during the phase of Aaravadhu Vanam as they spent their lives like vagrants. In all likelihood, here happens to be a village that undergoes unbearable turmoil for the sake of 'LOVE".

'It"s not a myth, but a real incident that shook the entire nation where entire village community vacated their lands for the sake of young couple in love. Even today, we tend to notice that the village is occupied by none other than this couple" says director Bhuvanesh.

This film Aaravadhu Vanam is completely based on this real incident. But the makers were patently disappointed when the couple dwelling in that village didn"t permit them to shoot the film over there. With no options, filmmaker Bhuvanesh and his crew finally zeroed down a village backdrop that suited well for this story.

But it wasn"t an easy task to approach the villagers pertaining to vacate their lands. At first, they opposed the idea but later convinced with the story of the film narrated by the director. They simply accepted to vacate the village for the next 5 days sans any second thoughts!

'This scenario will never fade away from my memories forever as my eyes were soaked with tears on witnessing their gracious goodwill and to the best of my knowledge this is the very first time in the history of Tamil Cinema where such miracle has happened..." adds Bhuvanesh.

Bhuvanesh has been a long time associate of ace filmmakers Bhagyaraj and Parthiban. Aaravadhu Vanam features famous Kannada actor Bhushan and Vidya from God"s own country taking on lead roles.

The film is produced by Thyagarajan under the banner name of MPG Films International. Hari Babu makes his debut as a music director while Siyaan, whose close association with Hollywood"s Warner Bros is well known handles editing.
