production
Kaaka
Muttai
will
have
a
lot
of
real-life
humour.
It
will
be
a
realistic
movie
shot
mainly
in
slums
and
it
revolves
around
the
lives
of
two
young
brothers.
Director
Manikandan
says
that
he
has
not
packed
the
movie
with
cinematically
emotonal
sequences.
His
focus
is
not
on
the
emotional
side
rather
on
the
realistic
view
of
a
world.
"There's
a
lot
of
real-life
humour.
There
are
three
songs
as
well,
but
they
will
feature
as
montages.
The
film
is
not
slow-paced
as
many
festival
films
usually
are.
At
the
same
time,
we
have
avoided
the
default
dance
and
songs
format
of
narrative," Manikandan
told
the
IANS.
The
interesting
development
on
Kaaka
Muttai
is
that
the
movie
has
been
selected
to
the
39th
Toronto
International
Film
Festival.
The
film
fest
will
be
held
in
September
2014
and
the
Tamil
movie
will
have
three
screenings
on
September
5,
6
and
13.
Kaaka
Muttai
is
based
on
a
short
film
named
Wind
directed
by
Manikandan
himself.
The
concept
impressed
the
makers
of
the
movie
and
they
asked
the
director
to
prepare
a
script
with
universal
appeal
with
all
commercial
ingredients
to
attract
both
mass,
theatre
audience
and
festival
crowd.
The
film
featuring
Ramesh,
Ramesh
Thilaganathan,
Vignesh
and
Aishwarya
Rajesh
in
lead
roles
will
release
in
theatres
after
its
world
premiere.
