Kotha Janta (4 Days) First Weekend Collection At Box Office

Allu Sirish's second movie Kotha Janta starring actress Regina Cassandra alongside him, has received good response from the film goers across the globe. The Maruthi-directed romantic comedy has done decent collection at the worldwide Box Office in the four-day-extended first weekend. But the film has failed to beat the business record of Sirish's debut film Gouravam.

Riding on the back of huge hype and expectations, Kotha Janta released in 1000+ screens on May 1 and registered decent amount of occupancy on Thursday. The movie was successful in impressing the viewers on the first day. It was expected to show a big leap over the weekend, but could not show expected amount of growth. Its business was affected by Hollywood movie The Amazing Spider Man 2.

Kotha Janta, which been made on a budget of Rs 8 crores, has collected Rs 12 crores at the worldwide Box Office in the four-day extended first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 3 cr on Thu, Rs 2.75 cr on Fri, Rs 2.90 cr on Sat and Rs 3.75 cr on Sun. Allu Sirish's previous movie Gouravam had raked in Rs 14.75 crores in three days. Released in more number screens than his first film, Kotha Janta has failed to smash this record.

Written by Maruthi, Kotha Janta has an interesting story with high entertainment quotient. Allu Sirish's performance, Saptagiri's comedy, JB's music and Richard Prasad's cinematography are the main highlights of the film, which looks bright, lively and colourful on screen. It has got positive response from the viewers.
