Airlift First Weekend (3 Days) Box Office Collection: FABULOUS

Akshay Kumar's latest movie Airlift is based on the true incident of India's biggest human evacuation mission during the 1990 Gulf War in which 1.7 lakh Indians were airlifted using 488 flights in just 59 days. The film is performing very well at the Indian box office and has already collected Rs 44.30 Crores in three days of its release.

Airlift earned Rs. 12.35 Crores on its first Friday and witnessed a jump on Saturday and collected Rs. 14.60 Crores. The third day collections were even higher as it grossed Rs. 17.35 Crores on the final day of the weekend.

Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur worked together for the first time in recently released film Airlift. Nimrat has played the role of Akshay's wife in the movie.

Box Office

Akshay Kumar's Airlift earned Rs. 12.35 Crores on its first Friday and witnessed a jump next day and earned Rs. 14.60 Crores.

Sunday

The third day collections (Sunday collections) were even higher as Airlift earned Rs. 17.35 Crores.

The movie is expected to perform even better on Tuesday because of 26th Jan, which is a national holiday.

Talking about Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur's Airlift's box office performance, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote on the microblogging site Twitter, ''#Airlift went from strength to strength with each passing day. Fri 12.35 cr, Sat 14.60 cr, Sun 17.35 cr. Total: ₹ 44.30 cr. India biz. FAB!''

Airlift is directed by Raja Krishna Menon, and apart from Akshay Kumar it also stars Nimrat Kaur and Purab Kohli in the key roles. The movie clashed with Ekta Kapoor's adult comedy, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum, but despite of the clash Airlift's business is pretty good.

Both the movies were released on Jan 22nd.
