Bollywood
movie
Ladies
vs
Ricky
Bahl,
which
stars
Anushka
Sharma
and
Ranveer
Singh
in
leads,
has
received
mixed
reviews
from
film
critics.
There
were
lot
of
expectations
from
the
Band
Baaja
Baarat
team.
Although
the
team
has
done
a
wonderful
job,
their
work
is
not
up
to
the
mark.
Ladies
Vs
Ricky
Bahl
is
a
romantic
comedy
film.
Film
critics
have
praised
the
amazing
chemistry
between
Ranveer
and
Anushka,
Salim-Sulaiman's
foot-tapping
music,
interesting
storyline,
beautiful
locations,
Habib
Faisal's
witty
one-liners,
Aseem
Mishra's
camera
work.
But
most
of
the
critics
are
upset
with
its
sluggish
and
predictable
script
and
mindless
placement
of
songs.

An
inexplicably
sluggish
pace
and
forgettable
songs
thrown
in
every
few
scenes
kill
any
possibility
of
a
narrative
rhythm
in
Ladies
vs
Ricky
Bahl.

Sometimes
a
director's
own
film
works
against
him.
Maneesh
Sharma's
debut
Band
Baaja
Baarat
was
such
a
delightful
little
surprise
packet
that
expectations
were
bound
to
be
high.
But
then
Ladies
Vs
Ricky
Bahl
proves
that
it
is
difficult
to
match
the
standards
of
a
fun
riot
like
BBB,
even
by
its
own
director.

Ranveer
Singh
walks
away
the
hero
from
the
film.
Super
energy
and
after
Parineeti,
good
dialogues
which
make
him
not
a
seminal
con-man
by
any
standards,
but
an
enjoyable
one.

'Ladies
vs
Ricky
Bahl'
nosedives
further
post-intermission
because
of
script
holes
the
size
of
craters.
The
trio
of
women
track
down
our
hero
way
too
conveniently,
and
you
can"t
help
but
question
how
a
seasoned
conman
could
so
easily
be
charmed
into
parting
with
his
cash.
Doesn"t
help
either
that
the
narrative
is
interrupted
far
too
often
with
unnecessary
songs.

What
makes
the
film
go
down
a
steep
slope
after
moving
to
a
solid
high
is
the
stupid
showing
of
how
these
girls
manage
to
sell
fake
Gucci's
and
Prada's
to
Ricky.
He
is
shown
as
a
man
who
knows
his
stuff.
So
why
this
laziness
in
the
script?

They
are
personable
enough,

they

well

He's

The

is
clever
enough,
and
whole
idea
of
the

always
delicious.
But
we've

LADIES

BAHL
is
at
best,
a
decent
fare,
which
appeals
in
parts.
The
film
starts
well,
even
ends
well.
It's
in
between
that's
plain
ordinary.
One
definitely
expected
more
from
the
director
of
the
immensely
likeable
BAND
BAAJA
BAARAT.
Ideally,
the
film
merits
a
two-and-a-half
star
rating,
but
that
extra
half
star
is
for
Ranveer
and
Anushka,
who
steal
your
heart
with
truly
striking
performances.

The

well
