Sonu Sood Takes A Jibe At Kangana Ranaut, Says He Can't Work With Two Directors On One Set!
Kangana Ranaut had alleged that Sonu Sood had 'vehemently denied to work under a woman director'. Sonu has now refuted these accusations while speaking to a daily.
It looks like Kangana Ranaut and controversies go hand-in-hand. A few days ago, the actress hogged headlines after Sonu Sood walked out of Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi. Kangana had alleged that Sonu had 'vehemently denied to work under a woman director'. The actor was supposed to play the role of Sadashiv Rao in the film and had shot for the film earlier. Now, in the latest turn of events, Sonu has refuted Kangana's accusations against him while speaking to a leading daily.
The actor reacted to Kangana's accusations that he didn't want to work under a female director and revealed the real reason on why he exited the project. Scroll down to read what Sonu had to say.
Sonu Clarifies His Stand On Manikarnika Row
He told Hindustan Times, " That was not my statement. I never said that I don't want to work with a female director because I have already done a movie with a female director (Farah Khan, Happy New Year)."
This Is Why He Left Manikarnika
"I only said I can't be working with two directors on one set. So I will always maintain that stand and in a span of all these years, whatever films I have done, 80-90 movies, I have worked with one director at a time. So that is my stand and I will always stick to it," the actor was quoted as saying to the daily.
Kangana To Call The Shots
Kangana took the reins of Manikarnika from director Krish for patchwork shoots of the film, as he is busy with NTR biopic. If reports are to be believed, then she will shoot almost 70% new footage for the film.
Kangana Spits Fire At Sonu
Last week, Kangana had issued a statement wherein she was quoted as saying, "Sonu and I haven't even met since the last shot with Krish (director) last year. He is busy filming Simmba. He couldn't even give us tentative dates to match combinations with other actors. The producers showed him the film and writers narrated the patchwork to him...he refused to meet me. He vehemently denied to work under a woman director, which is kind of amusing because Sonu is a dear friend and I have even launched the music of a film that he produced on his request, even though the team suggested that they have full faith in me, it seems, Sonu had neither dates nor faith."

Later, Sonu hit back at Kangana and was quoted as saying, "Kangana is a dear friend and she will always remain one but this constant playing the woman card, the victim card and making this entire issue about male chauvinism is ridiculous."
Will Manikarnika hit the theatrical screens on its scheduled date? Only time will tell that!
