Comedian
Russell
Brand,
who
gave
up
drugs,
alcohol
and
sex
addiction
after
the
treatment,
has
revealed
that
the
hero
in
his
latest
movie
Arthur
is
a
very
different
drunk
than
he
was.
The
Hollywood
funnyman
used
to
carry
bottles
of
alcohol
and
sniffed
them
to
get
in
character,
which
reminded
him
of
his
wild
night-outs.
The
film
Arthur
is
a
remake
of
the
1981
film
of
the
same
name.
Russell
Brand,
Dame
Helen
Mirren
and
Jennifer
Garner
in
the
leads.
The
upcoming
comedy
flick
is
all
about
a
drunkard
and
wild
playboy,
who
stands
to
lose
a
wealthy
inheritance
when
he
falls
for
a
woman
his
family
does
not
like.
Russell
Brand
is
playing
Arthur
Bach
in
the
movie.
The
funnyman,
who
himself
was
a
drunkard
like
Arthur
a
couple
of
years
ago,
says
that
he
enjoyed
the
role
utmost.
But
he
denies
he
is
not
exactly
like
Arthur.
“Arthur
is
a
very
different
drunk
than
I
was.
He's
like
a
fun-loving
drunk,
I
was
like
a
miserable,
moany
smackhead," The
Sun
quoted
Russell
as
saying.
Although
the
actor
no
longer
drinks,
he
found
it
easy
to
play
the
drunkard.
His
role
reminded
him
of
the
extreme
nights
out.
He
says,
"On
set
I'd
carry
a
bottle
of
Courvoisier,
or
tequila,
I'd
smell
different
boozes
depending
on
how
drunk
I
wanted
to
be
in
the
film
then
remember
mad
nights
slumped
outside
pubs
in
north
London
and
waking
up
on
a
sofa
drenched
in
wee
wee."
