Golden Globe Awards 2017: Jimmy Fallon Sets The Ball Rolling In Style

Jimmy Fallon marked the opening of the Golden Globe Awards with La La Land song and dance.

The very multi-talented Jimmy Fallon marked the opening of the 74th Golden Globe Awards on Sunday with the much acclaimed taped song-and-dance from the most-nominated movie, La La Land.

The Award night accompanied by various celebrity cameos set the tone for what is contemplated as the grand opening of the much-awaited award ceremony of the year.

"Let's make tonight a celebration," said Jimmy Fallon, after an awkward halt due to a teleprompter malfunction. However, Jimmy Fallon can never be off from his tickling political jokes and he mumbled "One of the few places left where America still honors the popular vote."

Aaron Taylor-Johnson wins the first award of the Golden Globes night in the category of Best Supporting actor. He won the award for his performance in Nocturnal Animals.

"I made it - thank you," Taylor-Johnson said in the acceptance speech.

However, early in the Television award category, the FX series Atlanta won the award for best comedy.

Billy Bob Thornton won the award for Best Actor for his performance in Goliath. Tracee Ellis Ross won the Best Actress award for her performance in ABC series Black-ish.

"This is for all of the women of color and colorful people whose stories, ideas, thoughts are not always considered worthy. I want you to know that I see you. We see you." Ross said in her award acceptance speech.
