Vettah
Kunchacko Boban started off the year with the film Vettah, which was in the lines of a thriller. In fact, Late Rajesh Pillai, well explored the actor in him and Kunchacko Boban got to play the role of Melvin Philip, a character that demadned a matured performance. The film wasn't a big success at the box office, but still, Kunchacko Boban proved his mettle as an actor with this movie.
Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti
In fact, Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti was the most awaited movies of Kunchacko Boban, in this year. The trailer, posters and songs of the movie did create an impact and much was expected from this movie. But, the film fell flat at the box office.
School Bus
For the first time, Kunchacko Boban played the role of a police officer, through this film, directed by Rosshan Andrrews. S.I Gopakumar, the character played by Kunchacko Boban, in the movie, was unlike other police characters that we have seen in the past. The actor did put in his best to make the character, a special one.
Shajahanum Pareekuttiyum
Well, this was the most disappointing movie of the actor, in 2016. Much was expected from this comedy entertainer, which also had Jayasurya in the lead role. The film went on to become a below average movie, which had nothing special to offer.
Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho
Kunchacko Boban made his debut as a film producer with this film. The movie, directed by Siddharth Siva marked the comeback of Udaya banner. The film was much praised for its quality content and once again, the movie gave the actor in Kunchacko Boban to excel.
Well, as mentioned earlier, none of the above films were big box office successes. Only Vettah and Kochavva Paulo Ayyappa Coelho were the ones that clicked at the box office.
Moreover, the year became a special one for the actor, as he relaunched his home banner Udaya Pictures. He also made it to the headlines, when he participated in the Celebrity Badminton League.
The actor has some exciting projects in his kitty. His next release is Mahesh Narayanan's Take Off, which also features Fahadh Faasil, Parvathy, Asif Ali etc., in important roles.
