Hyderabad:
KS
Rama
Rao,
who
had
produced
Chiranjeevi's
movie
Abhilasha
30
years
ago,
now
wants
to
remake
this
Blockbuster
film.
The
Tollywood
producer
admits
that
it
was
the
idea
of
writer
Gollapudi
Maruthi
Rao.
He
has
plans
to
rope
in
Chiru's
son
Ram
Charan
Teja,
who
is
currently
busy
with
a
couple
of
big
ticket
movies.
But
he
is
yet
to
approach
the
actor
with
this
offer.
In
a
chat
with
a
movie
portal,
KS
Rama
Rao
revealed
that
he
has
recently
met
Gollapudi
Maruthi
Rao,
who
suggested
him
to
consider
on
remaking
the
hit
movie
Abhilasha
with
a
few
changes
to
suit
the
taste
of
present
generation.
He
liked
the
idea.
The
producer
says,
"I
will
try
to
remake
the
film
with
Ram
Charan."
The
1983-hit
film
Abhilasha
was
directed
by
A
Kodandarami
Reddy
and
produced
by
KS
Rama
Rao.
It
is
the
film
adaptation
of
Yandamuri
Veerendranath's
novel
with
the
same
name.
Chiranjeevi
and
Radhika
had
played
the
leads,
while
Rao
Gopal
Rao
and
Gollapudi
Maruthi
Rao
appeared
in
vital
roles.
Ilayaraja
had
composed
music
for
this
movie,
which
was
a
big
hit
at
that
moment.
The
story
of
Abhilasha
was
based
on
a
unique
point
of
removing
Section
302
from
the
Indian
Penal
Code,
which
authorizes
capital
punishment.
Struggling
lawyer
Chiranjeevi
(Chiranjeevi),
lives
with
his
roommate
(Allu
Aravind),
and
dreams
of
removing
IPC
Section
302.
The
reason
behind
his
determination
was
his
father's
death
sentence
under
302
for
rape
and
murder,
which
he
didn't
commit.
Whether
he
realises
his
dream
or
not
will
form
the
crux
of
the
film.
However,
Ram
Charan
Teja,
who
debuted
in
films
with
Chirutha
in
2007,
has
acted
in
five
movies
in
his
career
spanning
six
years
and
four
of
them
have
become
super-hit
films
at
the
Box
Office.
He
is
now
busy
with
Yevadu
and
Zanjeer,
which
are
slated
to
release
in
2013.
KS
Rama
Rao
says
that
he
has
a
project
with
him
coming
up.
Will
this
be
a
remake
of
Abhilasa?
Will
Cherry
accept
this
offer?

Ram
Charan's
response.
