Aditya
Chopra's
latest
venture
Shuddh
Desi
Romance
(SDR),
which
has
been
made
with
a
budget
of
Rs
25
crores,
has
done
superb
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
Recovering
its
production
cost
in
its
opening
weekend,
the
movie
has
earned
a
profit
of
Rs
11
crores
on
weekdays.
The
Sushant
Singh
Rajput
and
Parineeti
Chopra
starrer
has
topped
the
domestic
business
chart,
beating
Ram
Charan
Teja
and
Priyanka
Chopra
starrer
Zanjeer,
which
has
turned
out
to
be
a
big
disaster.
Shuddh
Desi
Romance
opened
to
decent
response
in
the
domestic
market
on
Friday.
Despite
getting
negative
reviews
from
film
critics,
the
movie
showed
upward
trends
over
the
weekend.
It
has
also
fared
better
on
weekdays.
The
Sushant
and
Parineeti
starrer
has
collected
Rs
36.58
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
seven
days.
Its
breakup
is
Rs
6.45

Fri,
Rs

Sat,
Rs

Whereas
another
new
release
Zanjeer
debuted
with
a
poor
occupancy
and
failed
to
take
off
over
the
weekend.
On
the
weekday,
the
performance
of
the
Ram
Charan
and
Priyanka
starrer
remained
even
worse
than
that
of
the
previous
week
release
Satyagraha.
It
has
collected
Rs
15.19
crores
nett
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
(seven
days)
first
week.
Its
breakup

However,
Zanjeer,
which
is
a
remake
of
Amitabh
Bachchan's
1973
cult
classic
with
the
same
name,
has
been
made
with
a
whopping
budget
of
Rs
50+
crores.
Despite
having
huge
hype
and
promotion,
the
movie
has
failed
to
do
well
at
the
Box
Office.
Trade
experts
feel
that
with
three
new
films
hit
the
screen
this
Friday,
the
Apoorva
Lakhia-directed
film
may
not
recover
its
production
cost
in
the
second
week
too.
