Chaalis Chauraasi releasing on January 12th, 2012

Hriday Shetty"s next directorial venture Chaalis Chauraasi will release on January 12th, 2012. Naseeruddin Shah, Atul Kulkarni, Kay Kay Menon and Ravi Kishan are ready to tickle your bones holding guns and now they have a date slotted for it. The movie was completed under the scheduled time planned for it and it is ready to hit the cinema screens in the first month of the next year.

Talking to the media, director Hriday Shetty says, “Everything has gone according to the plan. And now we have locked the date as well. I hope everyone likes what we have done with Chaalis Chauraasi. January 12th, 2012 is a date to remember."

The movie is produced by MAASK Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. in association with Filament Glo (India) Pvt. Ltd. The film also casts Rajesh Sharma better known for his memorable stints in Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica and Khosla Ka Ghosla. The film is written by Yash-Vinay and the music in the film is by Lalit Pandit. This humour crime film was scheduled to finish in 45 days and it was finished in 41 days.

A night and quite a ride, as Chaalis Chauraasi promises to be, the movie revolves around a police van - MH-02-A-4084 and four cops. Pankaj Suri aka SIR (Naseeruddin Shah), Albert Pinto aka PINTO (KK Menon), Bhaskar Sardesai aka BOBBY (Atul Kulkarni) and Shakti Chinappa aka Shakti (Ravi Kishan) see an opportunity to a great future when they are given a mission to pull off. Things take a twist when another cop stops their van en-route and takes them as his backup to catch a dangerous gangster.

The story unfolds through the night where the fine line between law and crime is repeatedly crossed, leading to unexpected situations, sometimes very hilarious. The 4 guys who think of themselves as very rough and tough, macho men encounter situations where they are forced to reckon with a different truth about themselves.

Hriday Shetty the director of Chaalis Chauraasi has directed films like Plan (2004, starring Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra) and Pyaar Mein Twist (2005, starring Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia) before this. Also Hriday has spent over 23 years in film direction when he started assisting from his school days and rose to be a strong associate to eminent directors like, Mukul Anand, Sanjay Gupta, Rohan Sippy and others. As associate director Hriday has done films like – Kaante, Aatish, Hameshaa, and Kuch Naa Kaho. Born into the Hindi film industry, Hriday is the son of legendary fight composer of the 70s - Late MB Shetty, who did more than 200 films as actor and action coordinator.
