Kannada Releases This Week(Feb 3)

Kannada Film Industry starts the second month of 2017 with as many as half a dozen film releases which include the much awaited Chowka and also a re-release, Shankar Nag's Tarka.

Seven films that are hitting screens this week are - multi-starrer Chowka, Style King, Jalsa, Hai, Bannad Neralu, Rush and digitally remastered version of Sunilkumar Desai's directorial Tarka.

Amongst these seven films, Chowka has managed to get the biggest release whereas Style King, Hai and Jalsa have got decent number of screens. Other films will have to adjust with just a couple of theaters.

Chowka, which has been in the news since the time film was announced, is finally hitting screens today. This is the 50th film from prestigious Dwarkish banner. Challenging Star Darshan has played an extended cameo for his friend Tharun Sudhir.

The film boasts of an ensemble star cast with as many as four well-known heroes and heroines playing the lead roles. Tharun has also gathered best technicians in the industry for his debut film.

Jack Manjunath of Mysore Talkies is releasing the film in around 200 theaters throughout the state. Triveni has been confirmed as the main theater. The makers are planning for pan India and overseas release a week later.

Style King is yet another film, which portrays latest comedy sensation Chikkanna as hero, even though he is part of the film as a comedian. Horizon Studios releasing the film in around 50 theaters in Karnataka.

Jalsa which marks the debut of Niranjan Wodeyar and directed by Kantha Kannali is releasing in around 60 theaters throughout the state. Yogaraj Film Distributors are releasing the film.

Hai directed by GN Rudresh has newcomers playing the lead roles. The film is releasing in around 50 theaters today. Jassie Gift has composed the music for the film.

Sunil Kumar Desai's Tarka which is being re-released today has managed to get just couple of theaters throughout the state. Distributors plan to release the film amongst slew of new releases proving costly as they have less than fifteen theaters.
