Drama, the latest film from Mohanlal-Ranjith combo has marked its big arrival in the theatres. The film has had huge expectations bestowed on it as it comes from one of the most loved actor-director combos of the Malayalam film industry. The initial reports have suggested that Drama is indeed a decent entertainer with a satirical angle associated with it. At the Kochi multiplexes, the film has got the right stage for a big innings. A Big Release
As you all know, Drama released in over 140 screens in Kerala alone. At the Kochi multiplexes, the film had an equally big release as the movie had as much as 27 shows on the opening day, which are indeed big numbers.
Opening Day Collections
Well, the advance booking for Drama was good enough, especially for the evening shows. Going by the reports, Drama had indeed made a decent opening at the Kochi multiplexes. According to a report by Forum Keralam, Drama has collected as much as 5.11 Lakhs from 27 shows at an occupancy rate of approximately 68.34%.
In Comparison With Neerali & Kayamkulam Kochunni
Meanwhile, Drama's first day collections at the Kochi multiplexes is slightly on the lower side, in comparison with Neerali and Kayamkulam kochunni, which were Mohanlal's previous big releases of the year. Neerali had collected approximately 6.57 Lakhs whereas Kayamkulam Kochunni, in which Mohanlal played a special role had collected as much as approximately 19 Lakhs on day 1 at the Kochi multiplexes.

The Weekend Ahead
Well, Drama will have a 4-days long weekend as the film has released on a Thursday. Drama is expected to maintain the same number of shows in the upcoming days as well. There is expected to be a surge in collections, especially on the Saturday and Sunday with family audiences expected to pour in large numbers to the theatres.
