Story

Antony (Sunny Wayne) is the only son of Varghese Maash (Siddique). After Antony's mother passed away, his father pampered him a lot thus turning him into a spoiled brat. Fed up with his son's nature, Varghese brings home two dogs and raises them as his children, to the much annoyance of Antony.

Meanwhile, he falls in love with Sanjana (Gouri G Kishan), the daughter of Madhavan (Indrans). What happens in Antony's life and how the pet dogs become an important part of his life, thickens the plot.

Anugraheethan Antony Movie Review: This Sunny Wayne Starrer Is A Clean Entertainer

Script & Direction

Prince Joy makes a decent debut with Anugraheethan Antony, which is unarguably a clean entertainer. The Sunny Wayne starrer deals with a story that is familiar to the Malayalam cinema audiences, but Naveen T Manilal's script brings freshness to it. The narrative is rich with some enjoyable comical moments and moving emotional elements, which makes the movie an impactful experience.

The surprise elements and special cameo appearances work in favour of the storytelling. However, Anugraheethan Antony has its flaws as well. After the initial surprise factors, the narrative goes into a predictable mode, which affects the overall experiences. But that doesn't prevent this Sunny Wayne starrer from emerging as a decent watch.

Performances

Sunny Wayne has delivered a mature performance as the titular character Antony and carries the film on his shoulders with ease. But the actor needs improvement when it comes to handling the emotional scenes. Gouri G Kishan, who plays Antony's love interest Sanjana, has played her part to near perfection.

The rest of the star cast, including Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Indrans, Muthumani, Jaffer Idukky, Alexander Prashanth, and so on are good in their respective roles. A special mention to the canine cast, especially Rony, who played their parts brilliantly.

Technical Aspects

Selva Kumar S, the director of photography scores with the excellent visualisation of the movie, which makes it a treat to watch. The editing too is up to the mark. Manu Manjith and Arun Muraleedharan, who have composes the songs and background score respectively, have done a brilliant job.

Verdict

Anugraheethan Antony is a clean entertainer that has a good theme, some notable performances, and great music in store. This Sunny Wayne starrer is a perfect watch for this festive season.
