Vijay
is
arguably
one
of
the
most
successful
and
talented
stars
in
the
Tamil
film
industry
today.
And,
at
present,
he
is
in
the
limelight
because
of
his
latest
release
Sarkar.
The
political-thriller
hit
the
screens
on
November
6,
2018,
and
opened
to
a
thunderous
response
at
the
box
office.
Directed
by
Murugadoss,
the
film
has
several
political
references
that
have
ruffled
a
few
feathers.
In
it,
'Thalapathy'
plays
the
role
of
a
businessman
who
becomes
a
revolutionary
after
he
fails
to
cast
his
vote
due
to
a
vote
fraud.
During
a
recent
interview
with
a
leading
website,
Vijay's
friends
and
the
noted
director
Srinath
spoke
about
the
Sarkar
controversy
and
explained
that
the
star
is
doing
political
films
as
he
feels
that
it
is
his
duty
to
raise
questions
and
set
an
example.
"I
think
he
is
doing
so
because
it
is
in
his
blood.
It
won't
stop,
and
who
knows,
tomorrow
his
son
Sanjay
might
do
something
similar.
It
is
a
citizen's
duty
to
do
this.
Everything
is
to
bring
a
change,
and
hopefully
this
'Oru
Viral
Puratchi'
will
be
a
first
step
for
Vijay's
Political
career," he
added.
Srinath
also
said
that
it
is
not
right
to
target
Vijay
for
doing
political
films
as
even
the
likes
of
MGR
and
M
Karunanidhi
were
similar.
"He
is
doing
films
with
a
social
responsibility
and
maturity.
He
still
hasn't
started
his
revolution.
I
don't
understand
why
so
much
controversy
is
created
and
he
is
targeted.
Such
films
have
been
made
in
the
times
of
MGR
and
Kalaignar," added
Srinath.
This
is
quite
an
interesting
take
on
the
matter
and
it
might
create
a
buzz
amongst
Vijay's
fans.
