The

actor

politician
reportedly
suffered
a
cardiac
arrest.

his
Bollywood
debut
opposite
Madhuri
Dixit
in
Abodh
in
1984.
The
Rajshri
Productions
film
was
also
Madhuri
Dixit's
first
acting
assignment
on
the
big
screen.
Remembering
her
first
co-star
Tapas
Paul,
Madhuri
took
to
her
Twitter
to
express
grief
on
his
passing.
She
wrote,
"The
loss
of
Tapas
Paul
who
was
one
of
the
very
first
actors,
I
have
worked
with
is
felt
by
many.
May
God
bless
and
comfort
his
family
during
this
difficult
period."

reports,
Tapas
Paul
was
visiting
his
daughter
in
Mumbai
and
while
on
his
way
back
to
Kolkata,
complained
of
chest
pain
at
the
airport.
He
was
rushed
to
a
hospital
in
Juhu,
Mumbai,
but
died
around
4
am,
according
to
a
PTI
report
citing
family
sources.
Tapas
Paul
was
also
known
for
his
performance
in
Bengali
films
like
Saheb
(1981),
for
which
he
received
a
Filmfare
Award,
Dadar
Kirti
(1980),
Bhalobasa
Bhalobasa
(1985),
Anurager
Choa
