After gaining international attention with his notable character in Santhosh Sivan's much acclaimed Before The Rains, veteran Malayalam actor Thilakan, recent recipient of the prestigious Padmashree, will be soon seen in Dam 999, a Hollywood film to be directed by Sohan Roy, Malayalam lyricist and CEO of Dubai Aries Group.

Sohan Roy has penned songs for six music albums and two Malayalam movies: Vacation and K.K. Road. DAM 999 is the first project of Marine BizTV, the first global maritime TV channel solely dedicated to the maritime industry.

DAM 999 revolves around a 100-year-old British resident in India. According to the director's website, DAM 999 is a portrait of the nine basic forms of human emotions (Navarasas): Sringaram (Love), Hasyam (Comic), Karunam (Pathos), Raudram (Fury), Viram (Heroic), Bhayanakam (Horror), Bibhatsam (Odious), Adbhutam (Wonder) and Santam (Tranquility). More details are waited.

Meanwhile, after his powerful portrayal in the recently released Orkkuka Vallapozhum, Thilakan has been cast as hero in the forthcoming Kalabha Mazha, being directed and scripted by P. Suku Menon. Thilakan dons the role of Madhava Menon, an employee in All India Radio, who works for the upliftment of the people, irrespective of their religions.

Produced under the banner of Aswathy Arts, Kalabha Mazha will be a musical entertainer, which interestingly has two music directors Rajeev O.N.V. Kurup (son of O.N.V. Kurup) and Mankada Dhamu to set tunes to lyrics written by O.N.V. Kurup. M.J. Radha Krishnan wields the camera. Dialogues are by B. Kiran Kumar. The film is being shot at Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district.
