Diya Aur Baati Hum actress Deepika Singh is upset with the makers for not clearing her dues and is planning to take legal action against them, if her demands are not fulfilled.
Star Plus' popular show, Diya Aur Baati Hum bid farewell to its viewers on 10 September, 2016 on a sad note. The protagonists Sandhya (Deepika Singh) and Sooraj met a fateful death in a bomb blast, while saving the country from the clutches of the terrorists.

Deepika's Payment Issue
Deepika Singh, who rose to fame for the portrayal of Sandhya on the show is apparently upset with the makers for not clearing her dues. As per the reports, the actress is yet to receive an amount of 1.14 Crores as her payment.
Deepika's Payment To Be Reduced?
However, rumour has it that the production house had a dispute with the actress and they have agreed to settle down to only 67 Lakhs instead of 1.14 Crores, by claiming that she was reporting late to the shoot.
What The Report Says...
A leading entertainment portal reported that, "Shashi and Sumeet wanted the actors to finish off their outstanding amounts (the show went off air on September 10 this year) by accepting a lump-sum amount. Deepika is not ready for any such settlement. She was the lead on the show who sweated it out almost every day on the sets, why should she allow herself to be shortchanged?"
'Deepika Was Reporting Late To The Sets'
Sheetal Somani, Associate Producer of the show and Shashi Sumeet Productions, told, "Look, let me tell you exactly. We want to deduct Rs 16 Lakhs as far as Deepika is concerned because she was reporting late on our sets."
Deepika's Fitting Reply
Speaking about the same, the popular actress told, "Let me also tell you exactly. I was on time on the sets of Diya Aur Baati Hum and I have enough proof of that." Reports even suggest that the actress is currently negotiating with the makers regarding the fee and she will take legal action against them, if her demands are not fulfilled.
Deepika Approached For Kapil Sharma's Show
Due to her alleged tiff with the makers, there were reports that, Deepika had to let go off a lucrative offer. She was approached play the role of Rajesh Arora's (Kapil's new avatar) wife on The Kapil Sharma Show.
DABH Is A Hit In Thailand
Diya Aur Baati Hum is a big hit in Thailand. The show which is currently being aired in Thai language, recently completed 1000 episodes. As there is a big demand for the show, DVDs of the show have been launched.
Deepika recently visited Thailand on the successful completion of the show's 1000 episodes. She was invited to perform Odissi there. She described her experience as phenomenal.
Now that the show's DVDs have been launched,one more feather has been to her cap. As per the reports, DVDs are launched both in English and Thai languages.
The show had a successful run of 5 years. It's been quite a while since the cult show has gone off-air and we are very sure that the loyal fans of the show must be missing the show! No wonder the show has a huge fan following and the characters of the show are very relatable.
Currently, the actress is working on a web series titled 'The Real Soulmate'. The show, which is directed by her husband, Rohit Raj Goyal, presents her in a never-before-seen avatar and we are excited!
