PHOTOS: Stars At 17th Ujala Asianet Film Awards

17^th Ujala Asianet Awards have been distributed in the star-studded event, which was held on Willingdon Island, Kochi. The event, was extremely bright and colorful with the presence of the top league actors, singers and technicians from the movie industry.

The major attraction of the award function was the star couples Fahadh Faasil-Nazriya Nazim and Dulquer Salmaan-Amaal Sufiya. It was the first public appearance of the recently married Fahadh and Nazriya. The audience were completely excited to watch the young actor Fahadh onstage; as the actor rarely makes any public appearance.

Superstars of Malayalam cinema- Mammootty, who bagged the Best Actor trophy and Mohanlal were also present at the event. Mohanlal made a special performance with his band Lalisom in the event. It was the first performance of Lalisom in Kerala. Manju Warrier, the actress who grabbed the Best Actress award was also present for the show.

Popular actors and singers including Nikki Galrani, Rimi Tomy, Haricharan Sheshadri entertained the audience with their stunning stage performances. Rimi Tomy performed a special super star medley, as a tribute to the popular actors of Malayalam cinema. Nikki Galrani, the actress who also won the Best Debuatnte Award, performed a special dance number at the event.

Unlike the earlier Ujala Asianet Film Awards, the show was comparitively simple; but at the same time, was extremely lively and entertaining. No big shots from Bollywood and Tamil were present at the event. The show is expected to have a channel telecast soon.

Best Actor & Actress

Mammootty received the Best Actor trophy for his magnificent performance in Ranjith Sankar directed Varsham, from veteran actor Madhu.

Manju Warrier, who made a comeback after a long gap of 14 years, received the Best Actress award from Kaviyoor Ponnamma, for her exuberant performance in the movie How Old Are You.

Lalisom

Mohanlal was honoured for the 35 years of excellence in the field of cinema. The actor also launched his music band Lalisom at the event and made a special performance as well.

A Star-studded Click!

Young couples, Dulquer Salmaan-Amaal Sufiya and Fahadh Faasil-Nazriya Nazim posed along with close friend Jacob Gregory for a perfect picture. The couples were seen giving each other company throughout the show; owing to fact that Dulquer is a close friend of Fahadh and Nazriya.

Love Is On Air!

It was the first public appearance Fahadh and Nazriya made together after marriage. Fahadh, who rarely appears in the award shows and star nights, seemed extremely happy and excited to receive the Performer Of The Year award and Best Movie award for his production venture Iyobinte Pusthakam.

Dulquer And Amaal

Dulquer Salmaan, who won the Star Of The Year trophy was accompanied by his lovely wife Amaal Sufiya. The actor seemed to be having a good time with his wife and close friends Fahadh and Nazriya.

Star Of The Night

Manju Warrier, who bagged the Best Actress trophy for her comeback movie How Old Are You, can be definitely called as the star of the show. The actress grabbed all the attention at the event and impressed the audience with her simple appearance.

Jayasurya And Saritha

Jayasurya, the talented actor bagged the trophy for Best Actor In A Negative Role for his stunning performance in Iyobinte Pusthakam. The actor posed for a selfie along with his beautiful wife Saritha.

Youth Icon

Kunchako Boban, who won the Youth Icon award, seemed to be sporting an entirely different look. The actor has removed his moustache for his upcoming movie and looked completely dashing in his new look.

Mukesh And Methil Devika

Mukesh, who was honoured with a special award, attended the event with his wife, popular dancer Methil Devika.

Parvathi And Director Anjali Menon

Anjali Menon, the pretty woman who won the award for Best Director for her recent venture Bangalore Days, posed gracefully for a selfie. Parvathi who stole the show with her act as R J Sarah in the movie, also attended the event with her cast and crew members.

Anoop Menon, the actor-writer and Biju Menon, the versatile actor attended the show with great excitement. Anoop disappointed his fans and the other guests, who were expecting his newly wedded wife Shema Alexander with him.

Honey Rose, the actress who won the hearts with her bold roles and Namitha Pramod, who has already made a huge fan following with her girl-next-door image looked absolutely stunning in their trendy costumes.

The super talented actresses, Kalpana and KPAC Lalitha were also present at the event. The actresses seemed to be enjoying each others company and had a good time at the show.

Best Singers

Haricharan Sheshadri, the gifted musician who won the Best Male Singer award, posed for a pic along with his wife Pavithramala. Swetha Mohan, who bagged the Best Female Singer award, attended the show with hubby Ashwin.

Nikki Galrani, who won the award fro Best Debutante Actress, posed with her sister, actress Sanjjanaa Galrani. Nikki also made a stunning performance onstage.
