Half Yearly Box Office Collections 2016: Successful Malayalam Films

The first 6 months of 2016 have been completed, but Malayalam movie industry has not been able to recreate the success stories of 2015. The first half of 2015 was occupied by some profitable films.

But in 2016, out of the 58 Malayalam films which hit the theatres, only 7 movies have managed to taste the victory at the box office. Here we present the 7 successful films of 2016 so far....

Action Hero Biju

Nivin Pauly is back to repeat the success stories at the box office, in 2016 as well. His production debut Action Hero Biju is the highest grossing film of 2016, so far. The Abrid Shine movie has made a worldwide gross collection of 30 Crores.

Jacobinte Swargrajyam

The Vineeth Sreenivasan-directed movie, which was the second release of Nivin Pauly this year, is in the second position. The family drama has collected about 25 Crores from the worldwide box office, thus emerging as a blockbuster.

King Liar

The Dileep-Madonna Sebastian starrer, which marked the comeback of Siddique-Lal duo after a long hiatus, is in the third position. The movie has made a gross collection of 21 Crores from the releasing centres all over the world.

Kali

The Dulquer Salmaan-Sai Pallavi movie, directed by Sameer Thahir is in the fourth position, with a gross collection of 17 Crores, worldwide. Kali has broken the initial collection record, set by Mohanlal's Loham.

Maheshinte Prathikaaram

This low-budget venture which marked the strong comeback of Fahadh Faasil into success track is in the fifth position. The movie has made a gross collection of about 16 Crores, from the Kerala box office alone.

Paavada

The movie, which was the first release of Prithviraj in 2016, is in the sixth position. Paavada, which is directed by Marthandan, has made a worldwide gross collection of 16 Crores and emerged as Prithvi's fourth consecutive box office success.

Happy Wedding

The most surprising entry into the list, so far. The movie, which stars Premam actors Siju Wilson, Sharafudeen, Justin, etc. in the lead roles has already earned the blockbuster tag. The collection report will be out soon.
