Adipursuh
Dialogues:
Bollywood
director
Om
Raut
and
writer
Manoj
Muntashir
faced
intense
backlash
soon
after
the
release
of
their
highly
anticipated
film
Adipurush,
based
on
the
mythological
story
of
the
Ramayana.
Unfortunately,
the
movie
fell
short
of
expectations,
receiving
criticism
for
various
aspects
such
as
costume
design,
prosthetics,
VFX,
CGI,
and
even
the
dialogue
delivery.
Certain
dialogues
in
the
film
stirred
controversy
and
caused
an
uproar
among
the
audience.
In
response
to
the
backlash,
the
filmmakers
issued
a
statement
assuring
that
they
would
modify
the
dialogues
that
had
offended
religious
sentiments.
A
video
showcasing
the
revised
dialogues
has
now
gone
viral
on
social
media.
Adipurush's
makers
alter
the
film's
tapori
dialogues
As
promised,
after
the
massive
outrage,
the
Adipurush
makers
have
altered
certain
dialogues
in
the
movie
that
were
criticised
as
being
in
'tapori
language'.
The
film's
dialogues
and
VFX
have
received
severe
flak
online.
One
of
the
contentious
dialogues
was
Lord
Hanuman
telling
Indrajeet
'jalegi
tere
baap
ki'
has
been
changed.
A
video
that
was
shared
on
Twitter
by
a
viewer
showed
the
word
"baap" being
replaced
by
"Lanka".
Earlier,
Hanuman
says,
"Kapda
tere
baap
ka,
tel
tere
baap
ka,
aag
bhi
tere
baap
ki,
aur
jalegi
bhi
tere
baap
ki."
The
altered
dialogue
in
the
new
print
sounds
like,
"Kapda
teri
Lanka
ka,
tel
teri
Lanka
ka,
aag
bhi
teri
Lanka
ki,
aur
jalegi
bhi
teri
Lanka
hi."
Some
other
problematic
dialogues
have
also
been
changed.
The
"jo
humari
behno
ko
haath
lagayenge
hum
unki
Lanka
laga
denge"
has
been
changed
to
"hum
unki
Lanka
mein
aag
laga
denge."
Another
dialogue
that
was
slammed,
"Mera
ek
sapole
ne
tumhare
sheshnaag
ko
lamba
kar
diya",
has
been
changed
to,
"Mere
ek
sapole
ne
tumhare
iss
sheshnaag
ko
samapt
kar
diya...
bhara
pada
hai."
In
an
interview
with
Republic
World,
Adipuruh's
dialogue
writer,
Manoj
Muntashir,
gave
a
clarification,
saying
that
these
were
not
errors
but
thoughtfully
written
dialogues
for
Banjragbali
and
other
characters
in
the
film.
"We
have
made
it
simple
because
we
have
to
understand
one
thing:
if
there
are
multiple
characters
in
a
film,
all
cannot
speak
the
same
language.
There
has
to
be
a
kind
of
diversion,
a
kind
of
division,"
he
had
said.
