Revathi To Direct A Malayalam Movie

Revathi, the popular actress-filmmaker is all set to direct a Malayalam movie soon. As per the reports, Revathi is currently scripting for her Malayalam project, which will start rolling soon after her current projects.

The actress has recently finished her light and sound show, named Ross Show, which was done as a part of the development of tourism in Ross Islands, a part of Andaman and Nicobar islands. The show was sponsored by the Tourism Development Corporation of India.

The actress has earlier directed the segment Makal, in the popular anthology movie, Kerala Cafe. Revathi made her directorial debut with the Indian-English film Mitr, My Friend, with Shobana in the central role.

The movie won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English and Shobana won her Second National Film Award trophy for Best Actress. Revathi later directed a few more films including Phir Milenge, a film on AIDS awareness.

Her last directorial venture Red Building Where The Sun Sets, which was a short film, had won the National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Film of 2011. She last appeared on the silver screen, in recently released Margarita With A Straw, directed by Shonali Bose.

Reportedly, Revathi has committed to play one of the lead roles in the upcoming Arun Kumar Aravind directed multi-starrer movie, which will have Manju Warrier, Arvind Swamy, Murali Gopy and Urvashi in the star cast.
