Vaibhav
Reddy
has
been
part
of
some
interesting
projects
in
the
recent
years.
Not
only
in
Tamil,
he
has
also
featured
in
some
Telugu
projects.
Now,
the
budding
star
is
returning
with
Damaal
Dumeel.
There
is
no
big
name
in
the
cast
or
crew.
But
people
have
expectations
from
this
film
too,
as
films
made
with
minimal
budget
and
young
team
in
the
recent
years
have
impressed
Tamil
audience.
Damaal
Dumeel
is
directed
by
Shree
and
produced
by
CJ
Jayakumar.
Sayaji
Shinde,
Kota
Srinivasa
Rao,
Charle,

Damaal
Dumeel
is
a
neatly
made
comedy
thriller.
In
spite
of
losing
grip
on
screenplay
at
parts,
the
director
has
written
an
engaging
flick.
Notable
point
is
that
the
film
gives
you
an
experience
of
watching
Hollywood
films.
Like
English
films,
it
is
short
and
up
to
the
point.
No
beating-around-the-bush
kind
of
scenes.
Manikandan
changes
his
name
to
Moneykandan
to
change
his
fortunes.
He
works
in
a
software
firm
and
earns
a
good
money.
He
has
a
sister
for
whom
he
is
in
search
of
a
good
boy
from
a
dignified
family.
The
hero
also
has
a
girlfriend
(Remya
Nambeesan)
and
he
could
not
have
asked
for
a
better
life
than
this!
When
everything
appear
like
going
smooth,
the
story
takes
a
twist.
Rating:
3.0/5
The
recession
forces
his
company
to
sack
him
from
the
job
and
suddenly
his
life
is
changed.
But
his
life
becomes
more
complex
when
he
finds
a
box,
which
has
five
crore
rupees
in
it.
There
are
two
parties
behind
and
it
belongs
to
Ilavarasu
(Kota
Srinivas
Rao)
and
Kamatchi
Sundaram
(Sayaji
Shinde).

Story
Continues
Initially,
Moneykandan
thoughts
of
leaving
the
country
with
the
money.
But
soon
he
realises
that
it
is
not
possible.
Now,
it
is
a
triangular
game
for
the
money.
What
happens
next
is
the
interesting
part
of
the
story.
Biggest
Plus
Point
The
biggest
plus
point
of
Damaal
Dumeel
is
its
run
time,
which
is
close
to
two
hours.
The
pace
of
the
story
adds
value
to
the
project.
Story
Analysis
The
thrilling
story
is
backed
with
occasional
comedies.
In
total,
the
young
director
has
written
a
wonderful
story.
Drawbacks
Well,
Damaal
Dumeel
has
its
own
share
of
drawbacks.
The
huge
disappointment
for
audience
is
its
climax,
which
is
a
big
let
down.
Adding
to
it
woes,
the
stereotype
scenes
at
parts
doesn't
fit
such
films.
Vaibhav
Performance
Vaibhav
is
truly
growing
as
an
actor
and
you
could
see
those
signs
in
Damaal
Dumeel.
His
sense
of
humour
will
be
appreciated.
Ramya
Nambeesan
Ramya
Nambeesan
doesn't
have
a
big
role
but
her
character
has
importance.
Others'
Performance
Others
like
Kota
Srinivasa
Rao
and
Sayaji
Shinde
have
done
justice
to
their
roles.
Their
side-kicks
are
impressive.
Music
Technically,
the
film
has
song
good
songs.
'Dumeel'
and
'Saga
saga'
are
our
picks.
Background
score
by
Imman
is
good.
Cinematography/Editing
Edwin
Sakay's
cinematography
is
neat
and
Paramesh
Krishna's
editing
stands
out
of
all
technical
departments.
Verdict:
Verdict:
Damaal
Dumeel
is
yet
another
well-made
thriller
by
the
young
team.
Watch
it
if
you
are
a
fan
of
this
genre.
