Ilayathalapathy
Vijay
is
known
for
his
humanitarian
works
and
his
contributions
towards
other
social
welfare
organization.
Now,
he
has
contributed
15
lakh
rupees
for
yet
another
noble
cause.
Valasarawakkam
in
Chennai
now
has
a
new
theatre
named
after
the
late
K
Balachander,
which
was
inaugurated
by
the
Directors'
Union
last
week.
It
is
to
this
theatre
the
Kaththi
actor
has
contributed
15
lakhs
and
an
undisclosed
sum
of
rupees,
which
will
be
used
to
come
up
with
a
new
auditorium,
according
to
a
report
by
Indiaglitz.
In
the
name
of
the
legendary
director,
aspiring
and
upcoming
filmmakers
can
now
project
their
short
films
and
documentaries
every
week
for
public
viewing.
Balachander's
movies
were
inspirational
and
it
is
only
fair
to
honour
him
this
way
which
now
will
inspire
many
upcoming
directors.
Interestingly,
Kamal
Haasan
too
had
said
that
he
will
come
up
with
a
drama
theatre
in
order
to
honour
his
mentor,
which
will
be
useful
to
thousands
of
drama
artists.
