London
(ANI):
Celine
Dion,
Jennifer
Hudson
and
Kanye
West
were
among
a
host
of
stars
who
gathered
to
re-record
the
1985
US
charity
anthem
We
Are
The
World.
Pink,
Natalie
Cole,
the
Jonas
Brothers,
Tony
Bennett
and
Akon
were
other
musical
luminaries
who
stood
shoulder
to
shoulder
on
risers
at
Henson
Recording
studios,
singing
their
hearts
out
and
hoping
to
help
Haiti.
More
than
75
stars
gathered
to
re-record
the
song
in
the
same
Hollywood
recording
studio
where
the
original
was
cut
25
years
ago,
reports
the
Mirror.
But
there
were
some
conspicuous
no-shows,
including
Beyonce
Knowles,
Justin
Timberlake
and
Lady
Gaga.
Quincy
Jones,
who
produced
the
anthem,
announced
last
week
that
he
planned
to
re-do
the
song
after
the
earthquake
in
Port-au-Prince.
