A
Decent
First
Weekend
According
to
the
latest
trade
reports,
U
Turn
did
decent
business
at
the
TN
box
office
over
its
first
weekend
and
managed
to
collect
nearly
Rs
3.6
Crore
in
four
days.
The
general
feeling
is
that
this
is
a
reasonably
decent
figure,
as
U
Turn
is
not
exactly
a
very
commercial
film.
U
Turn
Does
Decent
Business
At
The
CBO
The
film
has
done
reasonably
decent
business
in
Chennai
as
well.
Its
4-day
gross
at
the
CBO
stands
at
Rs
57
Lakh.
While
this
figure
is
lower
than
what
an
Aramm
or
a
Kolamaavu
Kokila
had
collected,
it
is
still
decent
and
indicates
that
Sam
has
the
potential
to
be
a
'Lady
Superstar'.
Did
U
Turn
Release
On
The
Wrong
Date?
U
Turn
hit
the
screens
alongside
Sivakarthikeyan's
Seema
Raja.
And,
needless
to
say,
this
resulted
in
it
getting
a
relatively
lesser
number
of
screens.
As
such,
the
Ponram
directorial
has
definitely
affected
U
Turn.
Its
figures
would
have
been
a
lot
higher
had
it
managed
to
secure
a
solo
release.
The
general
feeling
is
that
U
Turn
is
a
relatively
well-made
film
and
it
stays
faithful
to
the
original
version.
Sam
too
has
received
relatively
favourable
reviews
for
doing
full
justice
to
her
role.
As
such,
the
WOM
is
relatively
popular
and
this
might
help
it
stay
strong
over
the
weekend.
The
Way
Ahead...
U
Turn
is
bound
to
lose
a
significant
number
of
screens
when
Vikram's
Saamy
Square
hits
the
screens
this
Friday
(September
21,
2018).
And,
needless
to
say,
this
is
going
to
affect
its
performance/prospects
in
a
big
way.
As
such,
U
Turn
needs
to
do
really
well
during
the
weekdays
in
order
to
emerge
as
a
success.
