Rajinikanth,
the
superstar
will
be
next
seen
in
the
upcoming
project
Annaatthe,
which
is
directed
by
Siva.
The
movie,
which
marks
the
Thalaivar's
first
collaboration
with
the
filmmaker,
is
said
to
be
an
out
and
out
family
entertainer.
Recently,
some
believable
sources
revealed
some
interesting
details
about
Rajinikanth's
character
in
Annaatthe.
As
per
the
reports,
the
Siva
directorial
will
bring
back
the
vintage
Rajinikanth,
who
was
the
favourite
of
the
family
audiences.
Unlike
his
last
few
outings
which
featured
him
as
an
action
hero,
the
Thalaivar
will
once
again
play
a
complete
family
man
in
Annaatthe.
Rajinikanth's
character
will
have
the
flavours
of
some
popular
roles
he
played
during
the
80s
and
90s.
The
sources
also
suggest
that
director
Siva
is
intending
to
give
the
highly
celebrated
'nakkal'
shade
(a
character
attribute
that
involves
lots
of
humour
and
sarcasm)
to
the
character
of
Rajinikanth
in
the
movie.
The
superstar
played
such
a
character
for
the
last
time
in
the
blockbuster
movie
Chandramukhi,
which
was
released
in
2005.
Annaatthe
features
lady
superstar
Nayanthara,
National
award-winner
Keerthy
Suresh,
senior
actresses
Khushboo,
and
Meena,
as
the
female
leads.
As
per
the
reports,
Nayanthara
appears
as
the
female
lead
opposite
Rajinikanth
in
the
movie,
while
Keerthy
Suresh
essays
the
role
of
his
younger
sister.
The
Rajinikanth
starrer
was
initially
supposed
to
hit
the
theaters
as
a
Vinayaka
Chathurthi
release,
in
August
2020.
But
as
per
the
latest
updates,
Annaatthe
is
now
postponed
to
October
2020
to
be
released
for
the
Pooja
season
of
the
year,
after
the
shooting
was
delayed
due
to
the
coronavirus
scare.
The
movie,
which
is
scripted
by
director
Siva
himself,
will
feature
Prakash
Raj,
Soori,
Sathish,
Vela
Ramamoorthy,
George
Maryan,
and
so
on
in
the
other
pivotal
roles.
D
Imman
composes
the
music,
while
Vetri
handles
the
cinematography.
Annaatthe
is
produced
by
the
popular
banner
Sun
Pictures.
