The
DC
Extended
Universe
has
a
herculean
task
at
hand
of
finding
a
suitable
substitute
for
Ben
Affleck,
as
the
director
of
the
upcoming
and
much
anticipated
solo
Batman
flick.
Ben
Affleck,
who
stepped
down
from
the
direction
duty
for
the
DC
movie,
cited
reasons
like
he
wanted
to
concentrate
more
on
his
other
duties
i.e.
acting,
producing
and
co-writing
the
movie.
Justin
Kroll,
the
Variety
writer
who
actually
announced
the
story
first
about
Ben
Affleck
stepping
down
from
the
director
role,
has
also
hinted
about
the
possible
replacement
for
director
through
one
of
his
Twitter
post.
"Hearing
Matt
Reeves
is
high
on
the
list
of
directors
they
are
looking
at," Justin
Kroll
posted
on
Twitter.
While
Reeves
certainly
doesn't
have
any
kind
of
experience
on
superhero
genre
to
show
on
his
resume,
that
doesn't
deter
his
immense
talent
and
potential
to
helm
the
direction
of
the
solo
Batman
movie.
He
is
though
best
known
for
his
much-appreciated
work
Dawn
of
the
Planet
of
the
Apes.
With
so
much
development
in
the
DC
Extended
camp
regarding
the
solo
Batman
movie,
it
is
unlikely
that
the
Warner
Brothers
will
like
to
deviate
from
the
original
script
of
the
movie
jointly
written
by
Geoff
Johns
and
Ben
Affleck.
