Mrunal Thakur Speaks About Nepotism, Reveals She Was Snubbed At An Award Show For Not Being Star Kid
Mrunal Thakur recently opened up about her experience in the industry with nepotism and shared two incidents, where she faced discrimination for not being a star kid.
Mrunal
Thakur
with
several
films
in
her
kitty,
has
gracefully
transitioned
from
a
TV
star
to
a
Bollywood
actor.
The
actress
recently
spoke
to
Pinkvilla
about
her
experience
in
the
industry
with
nepotism
and
shared
two
incidents,
where
she
faced
discrimination
for
not
being
a
star
kid.
Mrunal
revealed
she
was
snubbed
by
people
for
not
having
a
filmy
lineage
at
an
award
show.
Mrunal
told
the
portal
that
she
was
shown
the
exit
after
winning
an
award
where
star
kids
were
given
more
media
coverage
opportunities.
She
said,
"First,
it
happened
to
me
at
an
Awards
ceremony.
I
was
getting
the
Critics
Best
Actress
award
for
my
film
and
after
I
went
on
stage,
I
was
told,
'Ma'am,
that's
the
exit!'
Whereas
at
the
same
ceremony,
when
a
star
kid
went
up,
they
literally
were
shoving
the
mic
in
her
face."
Mrunal
Thakur
Says
Media
Also
Treats
Stars
Differently
The
Super
30
actress
also
said
that
media
treats
people
differently
and
added,
"I
was
at
this
event
giving
interview
bytes
and
suddenly,
the
entire
media
ran
away
because
a
star
kid
arrived.
That
poor
girl
couldn't
even
handle
her
outfit
properly
and
the
media
was
just
all
over."
Mrunal
Was
Last
Seen
In
Karan
Johar's
Segment
In
Ghost
Stories
However,
Mrunal
does
not
blame
the
star
kids
for
nepotism
or
the
different
treatment,
she
said,
"It's
not
just
the
industry,
it's
also
the
audience
and
the
media,
no?
After
all,
this
is
what
the
audience
wants
to
see
which
is
why
the
media
is
also
giving
it
to
them.
I
don't
blame
the
starkids
for
this
at
all."
