Mohanlal - Meera Jasmine bag Best Actors Award

The Govt of Kerala honours Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine with best actor award for the year 2007 for their performance in Paradesi and Ore Kadal respectively. The 28th Annual Kerala State film Awards were announced by the state's Culture Minister MA Baby in Thiruvananthapuram yesterday.

Mohan Lal has won the Best Actor award for his outstanding performance as Valiakathil Moosa in off- beat film Paradesi. Meera Jasmine bagged the Best Actress for her sensitive portrayal of Deepthi a lonely housewife in Shayamaprasad's off-beat Ore Kadal.

MG Sasi is the Best Director for Adayalangal, which has also been selected as the Best Feature Film. Katha Parayumbol got the Best Popular Film Award.

The other awardees:

Second Best Actors: Murali and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy.
Second Best Film: Ore Kadal.
Best Story: PT Kunju Mohammed for Paradesi.
Best Cameraman: MJ Radhakrishnan for Adayalangal.
Best Music Director: M Jayachandran (Naivedhyam)
Background Score: Ouseppachan (Ore Kadal).
Best Lyrist: Rafiq Ahmed (Pranayakalam)
Best Singer (Male): Vijay Yesudas - (Naivedhyam)
Best singer (Female): Shwetha Mohan (Naivedhyam)
Best Editor: Vinod Sukumaran (Ore Kadal)
Best sound Engineer: TR Krishnan Unni (Ottakaiyyan)
Best Art Director: Rajasekharan (Naalu Pennungal)
Best makeup: Pattanam Rashid (Paradesi).
